What is NDA?

NDA exam is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) which is conducted twice a year. The National Defence Academy (NDA) is the joint defence service training institute of the Indian Armed Forces, where cadets of the three services i.e. the Indian Army, the Indian Navy, and the Indian Air Force train collectively before they go on to their respective service academy for further pre-commission training. NDA Exam is conducted twice a year. It is the first tri-service academy in the world, which helps in recruiting Junior Officer in the Indian Armed Forces The foundation stone for the NDA was laid by then Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru on 6 October 1949. The National Defence Academy was formally commissioned on 7 December 1954, with an inauguration ceremony held on 16 January 1955. Its campus is located in Khadakwasla near Pune, Maharashtra.

Eligiblity

• Unmarried male candidate minimum age 16.5 years and maximum age 18.5 years at the time of filling the form.
• Army Wing of NDA: Students need to clear 12th Class exam conducted by a State Education Board or a University or 10+2 pattern of school education.
• Air Force and Naval Wings of NDA and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy: Students need to clear 12th Class Education or equivalent conducted by a State Education Board or a University with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics of the 10+2 pattern of School Education.
